First State Bank is committed to the communities we serve. We are active in supporting the people and organizations that make this area such a great place to live and work. During the months of July and August, we are saluting local Veterans and honoring their contribution to our country and our community. We are so proud and grateful to those who serve our country and this summer, we're saying thank you!
During the month of July, we will be hosting a goods drive to support the local Veterans who are aided by Veterans Returning Home, a local nonprofit. These requested supplies are items that Veterans may need when they move into a home of their own.
The drive will take place July 4 – 31, and you may drop off donated items at any of our 13 First State Bank locations.
Please see the below list of items needed:

First State Bank has partnered with the City of Warren and nonprofit organization Vets Returning Home to assist local Veterans who aspire to homeownership. The City of Warren had an inventory of municipal-owned properties and wanted the homes used to create a positive impact in the community. The City contacted Vets Returning Home, a local nonprofit that strives to help Veterans become independent, to see if these unoccupied properties could be used to help local Veterans. The City plans to deed the properties for one dollar each to Veterans working with Vets Returning Home. Vets must agree to stay in the property for a minimum of five years. Eligible Veterans were chosen based on a set of criteria including demonstration of personal responsibility and interest in homeownership.
